WASHING Your Wig (General Instructions)

  1. Fill your sink basin with cool water.
  2. Add a capful of Crème de la Crème Wig Shampoo and blend in. If the wig has picked up the odor of smoke or other strong odors, you may add a teaspoon of baking soda to your basin, and blend in.
  3. Gently swish the wig or hairpiece in the water for about 30 seconds to a minute until the wig is saturated. Gently scrub the front of the wig cap, where it meets the forehead until clean.
  4. Leave the wig soak in the wig basin for about 15 minutes
  5. Empty the wig basin of water and rinse the wig or hairpiece in cool water. It is very important to use cool water, as warm water will over-relax the wig.
  6. For extra shine and softness, apply  Crème de la Crème Conditioner and leave on for five minutes.  Rinse well again in clean, cool water.  Gently squeeze out excess without twisting.
  7. Spread the wig out on a towel, hair side up and leave in a ventilated area to dry overnight.  Do not lay near heat sources or in direct sunlight.  Turn the wig over when the fiber is dry to complete drying inside.  As it dries, shake it out periodically to speed drying.
  8. When the wig is entirely dry, and not before, re-style the wig gently. We recommend a wig pick and not a brush or wig brush. Shaking and fluffing by hand is your best starting point for wig styling.
  9. Generally, a wig should be washed after every 6-8 wearings in warm climates or 12-15 wearings in cooler climates.
  10. DO NOT use a hot curling iron or hair dryer.

DO NOT brush or wring out when it is wet.

DO NOT stand near any sources of excessive heat such

as an open oven, boiling water, BBQ grills

         or even a cigarette!
